I first conceived the idea of the SunSak when I was a student at the University of Pennsylvania. I always loved the beach, but found it inconvenient to carry so many items on my journey. One afternoon when I was at the beach, I thought to myself, "Wouldn't it be nice to have a comfortable beach towel that could also be used as a great-looking beach bag? And wouldn't it be even better if the towel was round so that you could move only your body and not your towel as the sun passes overhead throughout the day?" Eureka! The SunSak was born.

The University of Pennsylvania held a competition at the Weiss Tech House in the Spring of 2005, when I was a senior at Penn. I entered the SunSak in the competition, and it won the QVC Consumer Innovation prize as well as a top prize in the overall competition. Following the competition, I've worked on developing the SunSak and taking it to market. I hope you enjoy the SunSak as much as I do.
